For the money ESET’s suite is among of the top. Its malware detection rate is near perfect and it packs a great number of extra features into smaller footprint. Premium versions include parental controls, a secure web browser and password manager, while the Android version comes with an anti-theft feature that will help you locate your lost phone. The network security features are excellent, with an option to block access to your network and to scan your home devices for vulnerabilities.
One of the most popular is SysInspector. It’s an excellent tool that creates a snapshot of your system and highlights running processes and important Registry entries, as well as other details. It can be daunting for newbies. If, however, you are familiar with extended task managers, such as the ones in Sysinternals the process explorer, you’ll be at comfortable.
Scheduling scans at a specific time is a great feature. This is an excellent alternative to real-time security, and it’s simple and quick to use. It’s just a shame ESET doesn’t group this with other scheduling tasks and its UI makes it somewhat more difficult to find as compared to other competitors.
Other notable features include a robust form filler for online banking, an excellent spam filter that has earned the best scores in our tests, and a very efficient password manager that is simple to use. The password manager is available only in the premium version and requires an ESET account to access it, works as well as other standalone solutions.
